Casey’s adult workshop, LA GOAL, had their annual holiday musical performance. Casey performed as the “cowboy in the forest.”

We had brunch at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. We had “won” the opportunity through a silent auction for the DMI (Dale Memorial Invitational) Basketball Tournament. Accompanying the four of us were Ryan (Morgan’s boyfriend) and JC (Stephanie’s boyfriend).
Morgan, along with 14 other teens from temples & churches across the US, attended the Buddhist Churches of America’s Youth Advocacy Council Retreat from July 6-12, 2015, at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento.
Morgan attended El Segundo High School’s Junior/Senior prom.

There was a surprise birthday party for Dick Tochihara, a close family friend of Sue Uematsu’s. The party was held at Cherrystones Restaurant in Gardena.
District 1, Area C, speech contests held at the Westchester Community Center on April 10, 2015. Competing for El Segundo Toastmasters were CJ Walsh in the Tall Tales contest, and Mel Hadley, in the International contest. CJ took first place in the Tall Tales contest.
We celebrate Sue Uematsu’s 92nd birthday and Stephanie Gee’s 20th birthday at Aki Restaurant in West LA.
On January 18, 2015, we participated in a couple of special ceremonies in conjunction with a Ho-onko service (Shinran Shonin memorial) at Gardena Buddhist Church.
