We celebrate Christmas with Paula Carlson’s family. Her parents were in town from Finland and Julie Downes was also with us. Morgan was in Disneyland with Jennifer, Scott, and Casey.

We had dinner at Paula’s home to celebrate her 50th birthday. We had brought a couple of tri-tips to roast, while Julie Downes prepared a potato dish and brought a red velvet cake for dessert. A very tasty dinner.

We had dinner with Vickie Johnson LaFleur. Vickie was the sister of Ron’s best friend growing up, Randall, who passed away in 1990. For the past few years, Iris’ niece, Jennifer, had been hosting it, but this year, Jennifer and her husband, Edward, were in London over the Thanksgiving week. It was going to be a challenge, because our oven can’t accommodate anything very tall,… Read More »

We had dinner with Ron’s good friend, Julie Downes, and her flatmate, Karen. Julie has been here for the past three months, working in Sid Finegold’s lab at the Wadsworth VA. Karen came to town for the last two weeks of Julie’s stay, but, unfortunately, Julie spent most of that time working. We had a… Read More »
We took Stephanie’s friend, Kimberley Davey, who was over on a holiday from England, to Disneyland for the evening. It happened that the Sangha Teens from Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple were also at Disneyland for the day, so the girls were able to join up with them, and Morgan had a friend to go on… Read More »
