Girl Scout Court of Awards

Girl Scout Troop 5325, the one Stephanie and Morgan belong to, held their annual Court of Awards. Morgan received her Bronze Award for her volunteer hours at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter. Morgan bridged over from Juniors to Cadettes, and Stephanie bridged from Cadettes to Seniors. Click for more pics.

Memorial Day

AstroCamp

Stephanie left for a weekend at AstroCamp with 40 other students from El Segundo Middle School. The students conducted various experiments with gases and saw Saturn through a telescope on Saturday night.

Syd Finegold

One of Ron’s former bosses, Dr. Sydney Finegold, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Veterans Administration for his research work. Syd is a pioneer in the area of anaerobic microbiology and has three organisms named after him. Ron worked in two different research laboratories that he supervised from 1982 to 1987.

Mothers Day

We gathered with Iris’ side of the family at Hop Li in Santa Monica for an early Mothers Day celebration. Along with Iris’ mom, Sue, there was: Iris’ brother, Scott; Scott’s two ex-wives, Betty Ann and Julie; Scott’s son, Casey; Scott’s daughter, Jennifer, and her husband, Edward; and Betty Ann’s boyfriend, Dave.
