Stephanie competed for El Segundo High in a multi-school surf meet in Hermosa Beach. Other schools competing were Redondo Union, Mira Costa, San Pedro, Palos Verdes, and South Torrance. Stephanie competed in her first meet with the El Segundo High School Surf Team. The KO Classic Surf competition was held in Hermosa Beach and involved five other high schools: Mira Costa, Redondo Union, San Pedro, South Torrance and Palos Verdes.
We took Stephanie’s friend, Kimberley Davey, who was over on a holiday from England, to Disneyland for the evening. Stephanie played with the El Segundo High School girls basketball team played in the San Diego Classic this weekend. It is supposedly the largest high school girls basketball tournament in the country, with over 300 girls high school basketball teams competing from Thursday through Sunday. Stephanie graduated from El Segundo Middle School (eigth grade), and will be attending El Segundo High School in the fall. Girl Scout Troop 5325, the one Stephanie and Morgan belong to, held their annual Court of Awards. Morgan received her Bronze Award for her volunteer hours at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter. Morgan bridged over from Juniors to Cadettes, and Stephanie bridged from Cadettes to Seniors. Click for more pics.
Both Stephanie and Morgan participated in the El Segundo Spring Arts Festival, Morgan with the Center Street School Cougar Choir and Stephanie with the El Segundo Middle School advanced band, the Aquatunes.
Stephanie left for a weekend at AstroCamp with 40 other students from El Segundo Middle School. The students conducted various experiments with gases and saw Saturn through a telescope on Saturday night.
Morgan, Stephanie, and Ron ran in the Los Angeles Firecracker 5K held in Chinatown. This is the first Firecracker for Morgan and the third one for Stephanie.
