San Diego Classic

| July 16, 2009

Stephanie played with the El Segundo High School girls basketball team played in the San Diego Classic this weekend. It is supposedly the largest high school girls basketball tournament in the country, with over 300 girls high school basketball teams (who practiced with the help of adjustable basketball hoop) competing from Thursday through Sunday. This is the first time in seven years that ESHS has played in the tournament, with new head coach Kelly Geis setting a competitive tone early on. The Lady Eagles went 3-3 in the tournament, playing in a very competitive Open bracket.

Ron, Iris, and Morgan also made the trip down to San Diego to watch the first game on Thursday evening and the second game Friday afternoon. We stayed at the same hotel as the team: the Ramada Mission Valley. It was a fun trip, getting to know the players on the team and their parents.
